That, sir, is a blue recon.
ReplyDelete15 meters is only just over 45 feet. What gives?
ReplyDeleteThe international versions only shoot 15m because of restrictions in certain countries. The American ones fire 75ft.
DeleteReally? Nerf already announced that the confirmed range is 75 ft for ALL blasters. None of that international safety crap.
DeleteIs it an updated recon? it certainly appears as such. And could this dart be what we've wanted? it looks like a soft plastic shell which would likely mean that the tip is actually weighted. Also, perhaps that 45 foot thing is when you use regular darts? I can't honestly tell.
ReplyDeleteMaybe just a typo. Maybe its flat/angled. Maybe what you said, regular darts. Nobody knows but nerf!
Deleteif you look extremely close, the slide (from the original Recon design) is apparently locked in place. besides Nerf is calling that grip the "assault grip", you don't call it an assault grip for no reason or make it an accessory. also if you look close at the grip, you will notice that the end of the rail for it stops just like the Raider cs-35. This means Nerf finally realized that its easier to use a priming handle to fire a blaster than the slide. the slide allowed you to get hit by an enemy dart while the priming handle didn't unless you were reloaded.
ReplyDeleteIt is not. It isn't locked in place, it's just a new shell design. As far as the "assault grip" thing, if it was primed via the handle, the barrel extension wouldn't be removable. Also, the end of the extension does NOT stop like the Raider's does. Look closely before you post.
DeleteThere is nothing to suggest that the slide is not functional. That entire area is identical to the Recon. The rail you can see the VFG mounted on is a standard accessory rail and looks nothing like the Raider receiver's grip rails. Finally, the VFG itself clearly has the same type of rail grabber as every other nerf-brand rail accessory (unfortunately, as this type tends to let go of the rail if breathed on funny).
DeleteI don't know where these rumors are coming from. This is clearly a recon derivative and there is no reason to believe that the slide on top of the receiver is not how it is charged, nor is there any evidence that the VFG is a pump grip any more than there was for the Stampede grip-pod which is nearly identical.
If it was just a random grip then why did Nerf call it an “assault grip”? You guys are speculating without official proof that the priming method is the slide which would make the grip worthless. All the information that you guys provide comes from assuming that it’s the recon based on the released images.
DeleteIn addition, the retaliator is a 4 in 1 blaster. From the images that we have, the shell and extension barrel is from the Recon, the removable stock is from the Longstrike and the assault grip comes from the Stampede. Overall the shell and clips don’t count, so tell me what is the fourth blaster? Even if the shell counted, it would just be an overlap of the Recon. The majority of blasters can switch clips. I was suggesting a Raider priming method, but you guys shot that down. So tell me what is the fourth blaster part of the Retaliator then?
Note: it is stated that there is a barrel extension, if u assume it is part of a raider, try plucking that part out of ur raider!
DeleteIf ur asking for the fourth part, recon can work even without the extension, equals to recon recon longstrike and stampede.
Resulting in the assault grip is an accessory! In my idea, it is used for better aiming.
Without the blaster, the whole thing will be 4 in 0.
4 in 1 equals to 4 things united as one, join together! I hope u understand this and not assume that the assault grip is part of the raider.
"You guys are speculating without official proof"
DeleteOh, the irony, it burns.
This is a recolored, upgraded Recon. Priming method and all.
Why do they call it an assault grip? To make it sound cooler. They're trying to sell toys here.
Why include the grip if it's just an accessory? So people have the option of holding their Nerf guns in a different way, like with the Stampede's bipod (which I wish was included instead of the grip).
Why say that it's "4 blasters in 1"? Because the pieces are interchangeable like the original Recon. You can have just the gun part, gun with barrel extension, gun with stock, or gun with both barrel extension and stock. Four different combinations of accessories make it a "4 in 1" gun. It's not about taking traits from different guns and mashing them together.
Also I don't even know how you're figuring that the stock is from the Longstrike and the grip is from the Stampede (especially if you think it isn't a grip, but a priming handle). The Longstrike's stock was quite different and wasn't removable.
(And if the priming handle is on the barrel extension, how the heck would you prime it without the extension attached?)
good point, bfa.
Deletenerfmaster, i'm not seeing the locked slide. The slide appears to function the same as usual and the assault grip is clearly attached to the lower rail on the barrel attachment. the foregrip couldn't really cock the gun, the barrel is removable.
ReplyDeletei personally think that it is just a recon with semi auto function o. it, much like the rayven and barricade. similar functionality to a recon, as an assault rifle, sniper rifle and pistol sidearm
ReplyDeletethat is a possibility, there must be a reason for Nerf to have created an assault grip rather than just a normal grip. Nothing has been officially confirmed about how the blasters fire or their firing modes.
Deletealso the recon looks kind of weird with nothing on the bottom of the extension.
DeleteThis is basically a re-shelled Nerf Recon. The only real gain is the "assault grip", a slightly better, yet weird looking stock, and a stronger spring. If it can really go 75 ft, I'd be impressed.
ReplyDeleteI modified my old Recon (standard stuff, Air Restricter removal, spring, etc.) and it lasted about 2 weeks of use before the back blew out (never bothered to buy the orange works kit, should of). Now if that happens with all plastic parts, image how quickly this will probably break.
Sam, I have bought the OMW stage 1 and 2 for my recon and it performs very well but the accuracy is absolutely horrible. The almost weightless dart has so much power behind it that it goes anywhere as it flies. It's extra hard to prime because of the spring, and it's a boatload of a waste. I'm glad to see the same thing at half the price I paid to get my recon modded, and it certainly wasn't worth all the frustration trying to put it back together. The darts will probably be a little heavier so that they won't fly like that.
DeleteAll in all, I trust Nerf that this product will be a great one and won't be just another nerf blaster.
The retaliator/ rampage/jolt/firestrike/strongarm use a direct plunger system like the longshot.
DeleteAt 0:45 it shows the 'assualt grip' has a tactical rail clip. It is not able to prime the Retaliator.
ReplyDeleteSG NERF,
ReplyDeletewhere do you think the other 3 guns will be at? and the 12 dart clip isnt gonna be transparent alr? oh one more thing, the rampage not gonna have the shiled?
