Nerf N-Strike Elite 25-Dart Drum Magazine - Quick Preview!

With the Nerf Rampage promotional video officially revealed, i figure most readers would have spotted the 25-dart drum magazine in the video footage too. So this is just to share some additional bits of info about it.

Note that the units i've currently tested might be different from the final production versions. Therefore, i'm not doing a full review on them yet, just a quick initial user impression.

In terms of usability, the 25-dart drum magazines worked very well in all the various clip-fed N-Strike blasters they were tested in so far, and provided a nice intermediate ammo capacity option between the current 18-dart and 35-dart drum magazines.

The most interesting design feature is its centralized alignment of the drum section. This makes it much more ergonomic and comfortable to use in other N-Strike blasters with bottom mounted clip-wells, ie. Longshot, Longstrike or Recon etc.

Here are some photos of its scale comparison with other N-Strike drum magazines and its fitment/alignment in the Nerf Raider:

Stay tuned for more info soon. :)

  1. SG Nerf, Would this be more comfortable than the 35 or 18 dart drum when used at the rayven?

    1. DarkSonarch,

Well... as a right-handed user using the Rayven, the current drum magazines are shaped away from the right master hand, so they don't obstruct at all. The 25-dart drum magazine also doesn't cause any obstruction either.

But for a left-handed user, the 25-dart drum magazine is definitely much more comfortable to use, because it does not obstruct the left master hand like the 18-dart and 35-dart drum magazines.

  2. It seems barely larger than the 18, yet provides over a third extra capacity. Thankfully it's nowhere near as fat as the 35.

  3. You are SO lucky. Can you put some pics up of the drum in various blasters?

    1. Awesomenerfer1999,

Looks like the retail price of the Bandolier Kits have been revised lower, i've spotted that at other local dept stores too.

Nerf Jolts should still be available at most dept stores, just check at places like Takashimaya, Metro, OG, Toys R Us etc, along Orchard Road.

  6. Hey SGNerf :), does this 25 drum magazine work for the alpha trooper? One more thing, it doesnt relate to this topic but, is there anyway to get the barricade shoulder stock individually?

    1. ConfuciusHD,

Yes, the 25-dart drum magazines work with the Alpha Trooper too, along with all the other N-Strike clip-fed blasters.

So far to my knowledge, the Barricade yellow shoulder stock is not sold separately.

    1. Amir Sara,

I recently tested out the new elite foam darts and they are basically the same dimensions as normal streamline foam darts. Main difference i notice is the foam is just abit more sturdy in the elite foam darts.

Yes, the elite foam darts can also be used in older N-Strike blaster models, clips and drum mags.

  10. Can you take a side shot comparing the drums? I'm wondering if the 25 dart drum is thinner than the 35 dart drum.

The 35-dart drum magazine and the 25-dart drum magazine both have the exact same width (when viewed from the side).

  13. SG, sorry if you have answered this before, I've been searching the web to no avail...

Will the older N-Strike 18 and 35 drums function with the new Elite blasters? I would like to try these drums on my new Elite Stryfe and Retaliator, thanks for your help!

  14. Hey there! I was thinking of using the Nerf Elite Rayven for a sentry turret project. Obviously I needed (relatively) large ammo capacity for it so I was hoping to get a few 35 or 25 dart drums. I think I'll go for the 25 dart one as it is smaller and easier to fit in with the whole build. Where can I purchase the 25 dart drums without having to buy another nerf gun? Also is the elite rayven in SG yet?

    1. Jerry,

I've not seen the 25-dart drum magazine being sold separately, so i guess you'll have to get the Nerf Elite Rampage in order to obtain that particular drum magazine... or search online to find existing owners who have spare units for sale.

    2. Jerry,

I've not spotted the Nerf Elite Rayven locally, but you could alternatively just get the Elite Stryfe instead as its available in local stores now.

Btw, for a sentry turret... it would be best to get a full auto blaster (ie. Stampede or Vulcan) so that you don't have to custom make another mechanical device just to pull the trigger repeatedly for each shot.
