    1. Anonymous,

From a brief look at it, the Stockade shoulder stock seems to be around 7-8cm longer than the Retaliator shoulder stock.

  2. SG,

do you happen to know the pros and cons of this blaster?

I just want to know whether this blaster has the probability to get jammed when shooting. I hope not.:)

    1. Anonymous,

Its pros and cons are similar to the Nerf Barricade, as it has the same form factor and operating features (semi-auto using flywheel system, 10-dart rotating barrel etc)... just that it is designed to achieve longer ranges.

The jam rates on such blasters largely depend on how the user operates it (ie, not pulling the trigger completely or firing it too fast) and also the condition of the foam darts (using worn out or damaged foam darts tend to cause more jams).

would you recommend this or the Retaliator? Thanls!

Depends on your usage and preference, the Stockade is semi-auto, but it uses a flywheel system (if you don't mind the noise) and only has a 10-shot rotating barrel (you need time to re-load them during games)... whereas the Retaliator is manually primed, but uses a spring plunger system and is clip fed (which allows for quicker re-loading via clip swapping).

    2. Thanks! Is it possible to clip mode the Stockade like the Barricade?

Its possible, the Stockade's internals are similar to the Barricade.

  5. Hi SG Nerf :)
I was wondering if you would be willing to give me your opinion on something. I'm planning on either buying the rayven or the rampage. Which do you think i should get for indoor battles? The Rampage is better over all value but i like the rayven because the clip would be less hassle than the drum clip. Thanks for your time! :)

    1. Anonymous,

Overall, i would recommend the Rampage, it is designed to achieve longer ranges and has higher ammo capacity. You can also use other clips and drum magazines with it too.

The Rayven is good too, but its glow-in-the-dark feature is only usable in low-light games though... and although it is semi-auto, it depends on whether you are okay with the inherent buzzing noise of a flywheel system (some are fine with it, whereas some are annoyed by it). :)

    2. Thanks so much for the help SG! I think I'll take your advice and go with the Rampage! :)

  8. Hi sgnerf I was wondering whether they sell any nerf nstrike 18 dart clips

    1. Anonymous,

The Nerf Elite 18-dart clip refill packs are not available in Singapore yet, no idea when (or if) they will be available locally either.

At this moment, you'll have to either get 18-dart clips from existing blasters (ie. Stampedes), or order them in from overseas online stores.

  9. But I can't find any stampedes in Singapore even in toysrus

Nerf Stampedes seem to be sold out locally at the moment, so i guess you'll have to wait for them to re-stock... or order them in from overseas online stores too.

  10. How rigid is the buttstock? is it flimsy like the one comes with the recon?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Anonymous,

From my initial test on them so far, they seem to be more rigid than the Recon shoulder stock... though still slightly flexible if you really put load into them.

  11. Hey Sgnerf when I happened to rotate my new stockade"s barrel to reload the barrel kinda "squeaked" a little besides the usual ticking sound made.i just wanna ask if there is possibly any thing wrong with the parts of my stockade?Or is it just a manufacturing variation?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Anonymous,

Maybe could be a parts manufacturing variation in that particular unit, or the fitment is somehow abit too tight... i guess you could apply abit of grease to the parts in contact to solve the "squeaks". :)

  12. Will it successfully shoot suction darts?

    1. Laura Larsen,

Its possible, but it may not perform as well (and might create jams)... the Stockade is optimized for narrower tipped foam darts.

    1. Ray Dee,

I currently use Super-Lube Synthetic Grease for all my blaster mods, it is safe for plastic and rubber materials, and gets the best performance so far:

You can find it at local specialist hardware or hobby shops.

Not sure what you mean by "parts", but if you are referring to modding materials, check the "Modification Materials Directory" at the NerfSG forum:

  14. Sg Nerf, three questions

    1) Do elite darts really stick like suction darts.
    2) Do elite blasters (like the stockade really shoot darts up to 75ft
    3) If the stockade doesn't go that far which should I pick stockade or barricade.

    1. mgjs1500,

Elite foam darts are designed like streamline foam darts, they have narrow tips... not suction tips. So they do not stick to anything.

You can see the comparison here:

      http://www.modworks.blogspot.com/2012/07/elite-foam-darts-comparison-internals.html

Elite blasters average around 45-55ft flat range (ie. when firing with the blaster parallel to the ground), only when they are fired at an angle (ie. pointing at the sky and firing lob shots) then they can achieve up to 75ft.

You should pick the Stockade, it gets longer ranges than the Barricade.

    2. Thankyou.

P.S. It was just told before that elite darts have the combination of streamlines, suction, and whistlers.

  15. Does anyone knows how to enable the Stockade to fire sucker darts? I tried it and they always jam, and i think it's due to the different size/shape of the dart heads between the elite and sucker darts....

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Richard Seng,

The Stockade is designed to use narrow tipped foam darts, so it's flywheels are spaced closer together, which would tend to result in jams if larger tipped foam darts are used.

I guess you could try sanding down the flywheels to widen the gap, or replace them with smaller flywheels.

      Delete
    2. but reducing the flywheel size would compromise their grip of the darts' bodies.

I'm thinking if I can trim away a portion of the sucker pads to make them into little smaller pads, which changes the overall profile of the sucker darts.....

      Delete
    3. Richard Seng,

Yes, you could try that too.

One of the issues when changing the spacing of the flywheels is that it will create problems with the original foam darts, so its best to keep it the same and just mod the foam darts to fit.
