Guys look; This is almost certainly not a fake for a number of reasons. Firstly, with the pictures of the Elite glow in the dark darts box, you can see that nerf is re-releasing the Rayven in the Elite colour scheme. Secondly, the Nerf Elite Triad has "EX-3" written next to its name on the blaster, so get that idea that Elite stopped the "abbreviation" things, out of your minds. Lastly, it could just be that nerf is only using the original N-strike logo because... it IS an original N-strike blaster, and the Elite line has just modified it slightly, and is not a complete remake like the Hailfire. Now you're thinking: "what about the retaliator and the rampage" ,well, they were improved quite a bit with the direct plunger system which we can't be sure the Elite Reflex IX-1 has. Same goes for the picture of the "Elite Jolt" that everyone thought was a fake, but is probably just another re-release.
I do hope it's real. It's different from the original. The design on the slide is different and the tactical rail has been shifted back to the rear of the slide (as someone else has pointed out). This is a superb blaster, and I got more power out of mine than the big guns.
actually your wrong the roughcut has number coding of 2X4, as well as the triad having EX-3 and the elite rayven has its number coding, even though the original didn't.
The entire cocking mechanism is a completely different shape than the originals. Check out the slots underneath the name. It is hard to believe anyone is able to reshape plastic like that. The paint is completely flawless. The tactical rail is moved back. There is digital camo on the top of the priming slide. There is even a warning label fitted to the design.
Nerf must be re-releasing old blasters without new internals.
I happen to think it more likely that nerf prototyped all the old CS, IX, EBF blasters with new Elite internals and this is something that just didnt make the cut. Look at the inner shell looks the same as the old, now look at he outter top shell. I think there way too many differences to label it fake or illegitimate. How many people out there have a Stampede ECS-50, as opposed to a Stampede?
The gun is most probably fake. There are a few reasons: - The gun has N-Strike logo - Old name (Reflex IX-1) - "IX-1" Designation - The seller stated 'HASBRO 孩之宝NERF 孩之宝散装软头弹便携式玩具枪' and does not say it is a Elite blaster - Gun could be easily painted by painting the handle and cocking mechanism of a blue Reflex - Paint job is good... However, if you zoom in and scrutinize the white portions closely, you can see blue spots that is obviously accidental
Basically means that the 'Nerf N-Strike Elite Reflex IX-2' is obviously fake :)
Note the tactical rail position, and also the area surrounding the NERF logo. Basically, the slider blue part is a new mold... Note the curve in front.
Pull up an image of the old reflex, and place it side by side.... The difference is really something.
It does look slightly different but not worth me talking about. Besides the slightly different details of the tactical rail and the new look priming grip it's the exact same and has no Elite logo as well as no different name. It has the old school n-strike logo! At least the so called "Elite Jolt" had a logo that was similar.
Correction: "elite jolt" also only had regular N-strike logo.
The fact that both of these blasters don't have a new logo or name change along with the rayven that also doesn't have a name change suggests that Nerf actually is actually coming out with blasters that aren't elite, but match the color scheme.
guys, look at the source.the source is taobao wich mostly sells knockoffs.i doubt this will ever be released, but maybe it is an idea that was left on the side and this is the prototype.but only maybe.
Alright this has to be REAL open the left facing picture in another tab and zoom in as far as you can without it getting blurry, then look toward the barrel of the blaster ( I use IE and zoom to 400%) notice the year its made (2011) and the patent #'s (5529050 & 7287526), these are the exact same as the original reflex but transversed. Now just under that it says "made in china c-015? I think it's a Q) where as the original has c-044A.
I honestly can't tell anymore if some of the supposed elite blasters are fake or not. in the past it was pretty damn easy to tell at least for me but i think that mostly had to do with new designs not revamps of old blasters. My best guess is that all of these are real but maybe only prototypes that will never be produced in large amounts.
This is not the first time we see knock-off Blasters on TaoBao.com.Many times before TaoBao released Nerf knock-offs.In one of reviews that pSyK made he has shown knock-off Jolts,Sharp Shots and other Blasters that are from TaoBao.com.It would be no suprise if this was a knock-off too.
not fake on amazon now http://www.amazon.com/Nerf-N-Strike-Reflex-IX-1-Blaster/dp/B009T45X3M/ref=sr_1_18?ie=UTF8&qid=1357387322&sr=8-18&keywords=nerf+elite+darts
People are too cynical. So far, out of all the blasters people have screamed "Fake!" at, all of them have been released along with perfectly logical explanations. Dial down the disbelief meter, people.
Well the elite line stopped the "IX-1", "CS-6", "CS-25" naming conventions, so I'm gonna have to say it's probably a fake
ReplyDeleteGuys look; This is almost certainly not a fake for a number of reasons.

I bet it is fake.

DeleteOld N-Strike Logo, Old Name, "IX-1" Designation, it's a nice looking blaster, but it can't be a legitimate Nerf product.
ReplyDeleteand yet a month and a half later... IT IS!
DeleteWELL IT IS!!!
DeleteI doubt that they could stuff a direct plunger in there anyways.
ReplyDeleteThe entire cocking mechanism is a completely different shape than the originals. Check out the slots underneath the name. It is hard to believe anyone is able to reshape plastic like that. ReplyDeleteNerf must be re-releasing old blasters without new internals.
Well someone should buy it and find out for sure... if its for a decent price.
ReplyDeleteI dunno, Taobao usually gets stuff out before it's released. I'd say there's a chance.
ReplyDeleteI happen to think it more likely that nerf prototyped all the old CS, IX, EBF blasters with new Elite internals and this is something that just didnt make the cut. ReplyDeleteIf they did update the Reflex, Hasbro should rename it to "Instinct."
ReplyDeleteYES!
DeleteThe tactical rail has been moved backwards, so i think its real. However the old logo makes me think its fake.

pretty much sums it all up, I am unsure about the seen elite jolt and whether that is real or fake but I agree that this one is pretty fake.

Does it really matter if I put them in Capitals?
Deleteguys, look at the source.the source is taobao wich mostly sells knockoffs.i doubt this will ever be released, but maybe it is an idea that was left on the side and this is the prototype.but only maybe.
ReplyDeleteFake, just a paint job (refer to n-strike logo).
ReplyDeleteAlright this has to be REAL open the left facing picture in another tab and zoom in as far as you can without it getting blurry, then look toward the barrel of the blaster ( I use IE and zoom to 400%) notice the year its made (2011) and the patent #'s (5529050 & 7287526), these are the exact same as the original reflex but transversed. ReplyDeleteDang! You are so good at getting Nerf news that we haven't even seen half the blasters you've seen on shelves yet! Keep it up!

ReplyDeleteThis could just be a prototype for a new reflex. Look at the small different details on it. Like how the warning labels are in different places.

ReplyDeleteThis is fake cuz on the handle it says n-strike note n-strike elite.
