  1. Is it just me or are the people who pose for blaster photos getting older with each release?

    1. Anonymous,

Different countries have different stock availability and release timings. I guess its just the way they plan the product releases.

Its common to see some blasters pop up in one country earlier than another.

Just have to wait... alternatively, you could try ordering from those countries if you want to get blasters earlier. :)

  6. Dear SG would this gun be good for 11 year old (who currently has 4 nerf guns) or should I get the raven or the deploy.

    1. Anonymous,

Yes, it'll be a suitable blaster for a 11yr old.. and its a new model too.

The Rayven and Deploy are also good to get, they have the added benefit of being able to use Nerf N-Strike clips too, which are compatible with other existing Nerf clip-fed blasters.

  8. SG Nerf,

What do you think is the best sniper in any of the Nerf series? I want a gun that shoots far and is accurate.

    1. Anonymous,

The ones with the longest stock ranges now are the Nerf Elite blasters (ie. Elite Retaliator or Rampage), they are designed to achieve longer 45-55ft flat ranges (65-75ft angled ranges).

Accuracy depends on the foam darts used, for stock blasters the Elite foam darts are more accurate compared the older streamline foam darts.

  9. Nerf has N-strike, then Vortex which shoots further, and N-strike Elite which shoots even further, so what will come next that shoots 100 feet?

  10. what is the best sniper in n strike?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Anonymous,

If based on stock ranges, any of the Elite blasters can be the considered "best sniper" blaster, as they are designed to achieve longer stock ranges than the older blaster models.

But if based on modded blasters, then the Longshot is the best "sniper" because it has the largest plunger tube in the current Nerf model range. When modded, more plunger air volume = more power and range.

  11. i am the previous anonymous and i meant not elite guns, just regular n strike. so what is it?

    1. Anonymous,

If it's just the older N-Strike blaster models, then since all have similar short ranges (+/- a few ft difference), there isn't really any distinct "best sniper" amongst them.

I guess you could consider the Longstrike, it has a "sniper style" exterior casing design, but its ranges are still the same as the other older models.

Imho, i'd rather go for the Stampede instead 'cos its clip-fed and can fire in full auto.

  12. Thanks! And would you list all of the Nerf full auto guns? I am interested in buying them.

Nerf Stampede... it's the only one that is full auto and clip-fed (fully compatible with all N-Strike clips and drum magazines).

  15. SG Nerf,

Would you please list all of the semi-automatic guns?

    1. Anonymous,

Nerf Hail-Fire, Rayven, Snapfire, Barricade, Hornet and Blast Fire.

Btw, you can also use full-auto blasters in semi-auto or burst fire... by just timing the duration of the trigger pull.

  16. SG Nerf,

Unmodded, which original N-Strike (not N-Strike Elite) gun shoots the farthest?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Anonymous,

Well, all of the older stock N-Strike blaster models achieve average 25-35ft flat ranges (only +/- a few feet between individual units).

The only one that actually has a significant range difference when stock is the Nerf Titan, it can get around 60+ft flat ranges... but that blaster fires foam missiles. :)

  17. SG Nerf,

On the part of the gun where the shoulder stock goes on the Recon, Alpha Trooper, and Raider, what is the part where it is orange but when you shoot it is black? And will putting tape on it make the gun shoot farther?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Anonymous,

If you are referring to the shoulder stock attachment point, then it is a black or grey colored cap (you can see the orange plunger though a small gap in the cap when its primed).

Are you referring to putting tape inside it to pre-compress the spring? If so, then that is a method some beginner modders use, it can help increase ranges slightly, but not as much as with a proper stronger spring. You also have to make sure it doesn't block the priming system from working properly.

  18. What if I just put tape on the outside of it?

Put tape on the outside of the attachment point? That doesn't add anything to the performance.

If I were to get a Nerf gun what should I get? I have the Retaliator, Stampede, Vulcan, Raider, Alpha Trooper, Longstrike, Longshot, and Recon.

Get the other Elite blasters, like the Rampage or Hail-Fire.

  20. SG Nerf,

How much farther do the following blaster shoot with Elite darts? Stampede, Vulcan, Alpha Trooper, and Raider?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Anonymous,

From my tests so far, they traveled an average 5-10ft further in those blasters (compared to normal streamlines). The lighter tip weight helps improve ranges in those stock blasters too.

  21. SG Nerf,

Aside from the Stampede what is the best nerf gun?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Anonymous,

Personally, i'd rate the Longshot as the next best Nerf blaster, so far it still has the largest plunger air volume amongst all the Nerf blasters. Its modding potential is one of the highest.

  22. SG Nerf,

How far can you shoot Elite darts in the Stampede, Vulcan, Raider, Alpha Trooper, Recon, and Strikefire? And how far can you shoot Streamline darts in the Retaliator?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Anonymous,

Elite foam darts get an average of another 5-10ft (sometimes up to 15ft more) in most older Nerf blasters (due to their lighter tip weight).

Streamline foam darts tend to get 10-15ft less range in Elite blasters (due to their heavier tip weight) and are alot more inconsistent and inaccurate.

  23. SG Nerf,

I looked at the copyright dates on my Nerf guns and they all say a year before they were released in stores. Why is that?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Anonymous,

Most likely the copyright is confirmed before the blasters are produced, so its naturally dated earlier than their actual release in store shelves.

    1. Anonymous,

No news on the Nerf Elite Stockade release date for Singapore yet, it not even released in the USA yet too... so far only the UK market has them.

Different countries have different release dates for the various Nerf blaster models, so we just have to keep a lookout for when (and if) they are eventually released locally.

It should still be suitable... though for some children under 8 years of age, the trigger handle might be abit too large for them to grip properly (depending on the size of their hands).

Yes, it's basically an improved version of the Nerf Barricade, they both require batteries to operate.
