Nerf Prop Design

The latest range of Nerf N-Strike models have proven very popular amongst custom prop designers.

We know it can sometimes be tough to be taken seriously with a bright yellow n' orange gun right? The new N-Strike gun designs just beg for a cooler paintwork.

Instead of simply spraying the guns with cans of matt black paint (which most Nerf owners tend to do), a number of talented prop designers have taken the time to create amazing showcase pieces with well-matched colour schemes and superb detail.

Here are some interesting Warhammer 40k-style prop examples by a forum member called "Direct Threat" from the NerfHaven forums:

Nerf Longshot

Nerf Maverick

Time to break out your spray cans, paint pots and brushes... we'll look forward to showcase your unique prop creations! :)

  6. I use a combination of spray paint, inking, dry brush and detailing techniques. Sometimes air brush too.

Check out the NerfSG forums for guides and tips on how to paint your blaster. :)

  9. if i go amazon and buy the thing how much will it cost for the shipping in singapore

    ReplyDelete
  10. umarz,

Amazon.com does not ship Nerf blasters directly to Singapore, so you will need to get a local 3rd-party shipper to do it for you.

Check at the following local 3rd-party shipper websites:

    vPost
    www.vpost.com.sg

    Borderlinx
    www.borderlinx.com

    OneNow
    www.onenow.com

The seperate USA to SG shipping charges are based on volumetric weight (not the actual weight) of the package, so the shipping cost will depend on the size of the delivery box (which will vary based on item and quantity).

Read the 3rd-party shipper's websites for more information on how this process works.

  12. Ian,

With the sort of paintwork detail like the Firefly shown in the photos above, i guess it could easily command a price in the 3-digit range. :)

  19. Awesomenerfer1999,

The Raider would be better, as it has the slam-fire feature and comes with a 35-dart drum magazine.

  25. Hi SG Nerf, I would like to ask if when spray painting a blaster, do I have to open the casing or simply just spray the shell? Thanks!

    1. Anonymous,

Its better to separate the casing into individual parts before spray painting them, this is so that you can apply a complete coat of paint on each piece... or else you may miss some areas or the paint may seep into adjoining moving parts and clog them, which could cause jams.
