Nerf Deploy CS-6 - Review!

Check out the Nerf Deploy CS-6!

The Nerf Deploy features a unique mechanism that transforms it from a "torch" into a blaster.

In stealth mode, it is carried like a briefcase and has an in-built torch light that is powered by 3 x AAA batteries (sold separately). Blaster deployment is done by the press of a button on the top of the unit.

During deployment, the front ammo clip section rotates to the left, the shoulder stock extends backwards and the trigger grip flips out. This deployment mechanism is powered by in-built spring systems.

In deployed blaster mode, it is a pump-action single-shot blaster with a clip-fed ammo system. The Deploy uses a spring powered reverse-plunger mechanism (similar to the Nerf Recon and Raider).

As part of the N-Strike range, its components and parts are interchangeable with compatible N-Strike blasters (ie. Longshot, Longstrike, Recon or Raider) and it can also use most N-Strike tactical rail accessories too.

The package comes with 1 x 6-dart clip, along with 6 streamline darts. It also includes an adjustable strap too. Average firing range is around 25-30ft.

Special Note: For modders keen on finding out how the Deploy internals look like, check out the Nerf Deploy - Internals Guide!

  1. Do you recommend it to a 15 gun owning 11 year old kid who has only modded 2 guns?
(I don't plan to mod it but thought it might be important to tell you I have little modding experience)

    ReplyDelete
  2. Sure, its a blaster with an interesting deploy feature.

Note that range performance and modding potential is pretty much the same as a Recon, Longstrike or Raider, as it uses the same reverse plunger system.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Dude great stuff. Totally linking this up on FFA.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Can it fire with the clip in the vertical position? Also where is the lamp switch located?

    ReplyDelete
  5. Could you post a picture of it with the Recon barrel extention on please.

    ReplyDelete
  6. this is sick. is the flashlight any good?

    ReplyDelete
  7. Can we have some pictures of it with the recon/longshot/longstrike barrel attachments please?
    SMF

    ReplyDelete
  8. Devon,

Yes, the Deploy can still fire with the front clip section in the vertical position.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Thomas,

The Deploy's flash light is a single red LED with light diffused through a plastic lens. Similiar to the Recon red-dot targeter in spotlight mode.

    ReplyDelete
  10. SomethingMeaningfull,

Yup, i've updated the review with a photo of the Deploy with various other N-Strike blaster barrels and acessories.

    ReplyDelete
  11. haha, is just looks silly with the barrel extentions on it. Especially the Longstrike barrel. That doesn't look suspicious at all.

So this is basically a fancy Recon?

I don't really see a point in having a "hidden" blaster when you are going to already have it ready to shoot in the beginning of the Nerf war.

It can't even carry extra clips for such a monsterous thing.

    ReplyDelete
  12. does that mean its better than recon light?

    ReplyDelete
  13. Thomas,

Its basically similiar to the Recon's red-dot targeter in spotlight mode.

I've updated the review with a photo of the Deploy's torch light beam. :)

    ReplyDelete
  14. can you post a picture with the raider drum mag in thanks

    ReplyDelete
  15. joe,

Seems quite alot of people are also requesting to see the Deploy with a Drum Magazine too.

Okay, i've updated the review with a photo of the Deploy loaded with a Drum Magazine. :)

  16. hi SG nerf ..i'm from indonesia,i love your blog it's always up to date, here in indonesia nerf geek are still low in number, but still i love nerf, thx for all the info 'bout nerf,it means a lot bro ..
btw i have n-strike longshot cs-6 and recon cs-6 lol..
    sorry newbie here ..

  17. thanks and will i be able to get this in england

  18. joe,

From the official NerfNation facebook page, they have announced the Deploy release dates in various countries.

    http://www.facebook.com/NerfNation#!/NerfNation?v=wall

For UK, it is July 2010.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Antiss,

For Singapore, the Deploy is slated to be avaliable in February 2010.

So just keep a look out for it in local stores. :)

    ReplyDelete
  20. I hope it coes out before the CNY!Thanks!(:

    ReplyDelete
  21. It looks beatiful with the recon barrel and pinpoint sight!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Is that a scope on the top of the deploy cs-6? and do you think the deploy cs-6 is available in hong kong yet?

    ReplyDelete
  23. for the "Nerf Deploy CS-6 - Interchangeable Components & Attachments" picture, what is the "scope" on the deploy with the recon barrel?

    ReplyDelete
  24. Sold. I can't wait to find this one on the shelves.

    ReplyDelete
  25. the Spriters Guild,

Yup, the Deploy has a tube sight within its carrying handle. No magnification, just a hollow tube with an aiming tip.

In the photo of the Deploy with a Recon barrel attached, the "scope" mounted is called the Nerf Pinpoint Sight.

Check out the Nerf Pinpoint Sight review here:

  26. thanks sg nerf thats really helpful

  27. on 11/2/2010 i went to toyrus to find nerf Deploy but did not have so went will nerf deploy come out

    ReplyDelete
  28. Try OG Albert Complex, i was there recently and they had lots of Deploys on display.

It should be in stock at most of the other dept stores very soon anyways.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I guess from the video it can't expect it, but does the Deploy have the same slam fire ability as the Raider? Hasn't be advertised to have it either. Still too bad if it doesn't, because really makes sense if you're using a pump action grip to increase rate of fire anyway. I might just have to figure out a mod for that then, if it's not too difficult.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Nope, the Deploy does not have the slam-fire function. That feature is currently unique only to the Raider. :)

    ReplyDelete
  31. hey sg i want to ask you wich is better the deploy or the recon, guess is the deploy but i want your opinion
and by the way do you know when is going to be released in latin america?

    ReplyDelete
  32. Both the Recon and Deploy have similiar firing mechanisms, so i guess your choice will depend on whether you prefer a blaster that has modular components (Recon) or a blaster that can "transform" (Deploy).

Not sure about the Deploy stock avaliability in Latin America, but with reference from Nerf's facebook NerfNation page, the following release dates were mentioned...

    Brazil - April 2010
    Mexico - August 2010

    Hope this info helps. :)

    ReplyDelete
  33. finally got the deploy at OG albert complex. thx man!

    ReplyDelete
  34. When is the deploy coming out in Hong Kong? I really really wanna buy it. It's like the best gun ever !!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  35. No idea, i guess you could check with the dept store staff in your area for stock avaliability. :)

    ReplyDelete
  36. Interesting. Has anyone noticed that it have a striking resemblance to the Raider CS-6 from Nerf Wii?
Both need to pump, both have clips on the sides, both ate CS-6 weapons...

    ReplyDelete
  37. Is this a special value pack that comes with the strap or is it included?

    ReplyDelete
  38. The Nerf Deploy comes packaged with an adjustable strap as a standard item. :)

    ReplyDelete
  39. The nerf deploy is set to be released on 3/1/10 in the United states! Yahoo!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Nice gun man. Any idea when it well come out in canada. and how heavy is this. still nomatter what the longshot well be my fav nerf gun

    ReplyDelete
  41. Amir,

No idea, best to check on Deploy stock avaliability at the major dept stores in your area.

How heavy is the Deploy? I guess its around the same weight as a Recon with all the attachments installed. :)

    ReplyDelete
  42. Can you do a size comparisen with the nerf recon with all the attachments?

    ReplyDelete
  43. Check out the scale comparison photo with the Maverick as a size benchmark.

The Recon with its front barrel and shoulder stock attached would be slightly longer than a "deployed" Deploy. :)

    ReplyDelete
  44. Can you help me choose whether to buy the Deploy,Raider or the Recon? And which one can shoot the furthest? Thx.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Since nerf already made a shotgun grip, why don't they just make a shotgun modeled after a pump-action shotgun like the Spas-12?

    ReplyDelete
  46. Emman Hotstuff,

The Deploy, Raider and Recon all share the same reverse plunger system, so their firing ranges are around the same, approx. 25-30ft.

Any differences in range reported by some nerfers on forums are simply "manufacturing variations" on individual units, so it also depends on your luck. :)

Amongst the 3 blasters you mentioned, in terms of actual game usage, i'd say the Raider has the most effective combination of features, it comes with a 35-dart drum magazine, has slam-fire mode and uses the pump-action foregrip design.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Hi SG Nerf,

i just wonder why does the ordernary darts from the Strike fire has a hole in between the dart and the stephans doesn't?

    ReplyDelete
  48. Big Fuzz,

Stock Nerf darts are hollow because stock Nerf blasters have dart positioning posts in their bolts or barrels. It basically helps to align the foam darts when they are chambered or loaded.

"Stefans" are not hollow because they are usually custom-made by modders using Foam Backer Rod (FBR). FBR are coils of solid foam that are commonly used by building and construction contractors to fill up gaps in walls or structures.

As most Nerf blasters have dart positioning posts in their bolts or barrels, those parts would need to be removed before being able to use "Stefans".

    ReplyDelete
  49. Does the gun work when the magizine is up insted of in a raider form?

    ReplyDelete
  50. Daniel,

Yes, the Deploy can still fire when it's clip is in the vertical position.

    ReplyDelete
  51. should i sell my lonkstrike for a deploy or should i keep it?

    ReplyDelete
  52. Hello SG Nerf. What type of darts do the Deploy use? All or just streamline?

    ReplyDelete
  53. @ devon I have it and you can fire the clip in vertical position

    ReplyDelete
  54. Rayan,

The Deploy can only use Nerf streamline darts properly, just like all the other blasters that use N-Stike clip-systems.

It is possible to mod such blasters to use other types of Nerf darts though, check out my "Tagger Compatibility Mod" Guide for the Recon:

    http://modworks.blogspot.com/2009/04/nerf-recon-mod-tagger-dart.html

    ReplyDelete
  55. About the strap. I see the box how they put the strap. But the handle of the gun is different from the box. Now way you can use the strap?

    ReplyDelete
  56. D A R W I N,

Yup, the Deploy box art does differ from the actual Deploy blaster in the design of the handle.

Therefore, most Deploy users usually just attach both strap clips to the single point at the shoulder stock.

    ReplyDelete
  57. in attempting to mod my deploy, I believe I may have gotten a bit over-zealous. just below the carrying handle and the deploying mechanism there is normally a white ring around the barrel. I removed this to extract the barrel by cutting it off. I have put all other pieces back where they started minus some minor items from the rotating flashlight portion of the gun (as I'm trying to get rid of a portion of this) however I can not get my gun to cock and fire, is that white ring the missing link? or is there some other issue? Any suggestions or fixes you can recommend would be appreciated.

p.s. other than a nitefinder spring and air restriction mod, this is my first attempt. so my experience is limited.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Geriatric_,

The parts for the rotation of the clip section shouldn't affect the priming action of the blaster.

I think the issue is that one or more of the components in your blaster's priming mechanism is either not installed properly or mis-aligned.

Open it up to check again. Keep testing until the blaster can be primed smoothly.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Well, it is cool, but the drum should point down.

    ReplyDelete
  60. im getting a nerf gun but i cant decide between magstrike or deploy what do u think?

    ReplyDelete
  61. AlexSwift,

The Deploy and Magstrike are both very different blasters.

The Deploy is a spring powered reverse plunger, single-shot, 6-dart clip-fed blaster.

The Magstrike is a compressed air powered, full-auto/burst-fire, 10-dart clip-fed blaster.

So it all depends on what features you are looking for. :)

    ReplyDelete
  62. Hi I was just wondering what you can see through the scope? Is there a printed reticule (like the longshot) or is the light visible through the scope. Also, how does the clip come out? Is there a clip release and if fo, where? Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Tap Tap Tap,

The Deploy's inbuilt scope (located within the handle) is just a hollow plastic tube with a small plastic "iron-sight" piece at the end.

The clip is released by an orange clip release button located on the side of the clip feed section, you can see it in some of the Deploy photos.

    ReplyDelete
  64. In my experience with the deploy, it is not the most accurate thing ever. Would attaching a recon barrel fix that? It also seems that this is better than the recon because of the shotgun style cocking mechanism. Does that allow a rate of fire almost as great as a raider? I already understand that it is greater than the longshot and recon. Please clarify these points

    ReplyDelete
  65. ZombiezuRFER,

Attaching a longer barrel can help accuracy abit, but it'll also tend to reduce range due to the foam darts bumping against the walls of the longer barrel.

I agree, the pump-action grip on the Deploy is definitely more ergonomic and comfortable than the top-slider system on the Recon. But RoF is still around the same, just at different priming positions.

Compared to the Raider, the Deploy's RoF will still be slower because the Raider has the special slam-fire mode which allow it to fire continuously without the need to repeatedly pull the trigger, saving the time required to pull the trigger between each shot.

Accuracy for blasters is actually more to do with the type of foam darts used.

Stock streamline darts are inherently inaccurate, thats why experienced nerfers customise their own foam darts which are calibrated and weight balanced to their blasters to provide much high accuracy.

Check the NerfSG forum for guides on how to customise the CSD or Sabot darts that most local players now use in games.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Contente something,

Well, the Deploy's flash light is a single red LED with light diffused through a plastic lens. Similiar to the Recon red-dot targeter in spotlight mode.

I guess its more of a gimmick than an actual flashlight. :)

    ReplyDelete
  67. does the recon still shoot further than the deploy? will the recon barrel affect the range of the deploy?

    ReplyDelete
  68. The Recon and Deploy both share similiar internal reverse plunger mechanisms. When multiple units are tested and compared, the stock firing distances average around the same.

Any variations in firing distances that users may observe in their individual Recons or Deploys are mainly due to the manufacturing quality variations in individual blaster units.

In other words, it also depends on luck whether you get a stock Recon or Deploy from the store that can only achieve 20 ft range or one that can achieve 30+ ft range. :)

    ReplyDelete
  69. do you know when the deploy is going to come out in australia?

    ReplyDelete
  70. P13c30fch33s3,

Best to check with the aussie nerfers over at the OzNerf forum:

    http://www.oznerf.com

    ReplyDelete
  71. Both the raider and deploy foregrips look like they use the same kind of curved rail system to attach to the gun. One of my friends has the deploy, and I'm planning to get the raider, I'd have tried swapping the grips by now if i knew anyone who had both guns. Can you please try and see if the two grips can be swapped over?

    ReplyDelete
  72. Morgan,

Its possible to swap the Raider and Deploy foregrips, it'll just require some trimming and adjustments to make them fit and work properly.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Do you know how much it is in M'sia?

    ReplyDelete
  74. P13c30fch33s3,

Sorry, not too sure of the Nerf Deploy's pricing in M'sia.

Perhaps you can check with the chaps at the Nerf Community Malaysia Facebook page?

    ReplyDelete
  75. lori parkhurst,

I guess it depends on whether the pump-action grip and "deploy" function appeals to you.

Performance-wise, its similiar to the Nerf Recon, Raider or Longstrike, 'cos they all share the same reverse plunger system.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Should I get the recon or deploy and which one goes further and easier to mod?

    ReplyDelete
  77. RC night flyer,

Both the Recon and Deploy use the same reverse plunger system, so their stock firing range is around the same.

In terms of modification, both utilize the same modding methods and materials but the Recon is easier to mod because its casing design is simpler.

The Deploy's casing and "deploy" mechanism can be quite a hassle to take apart and put back together.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Sg. Nerf,

Does the Deploy Jam alot like the Recon?

Also, does it get weaker overtime like the Raider?

And, which would you prefer, Deploy or Spectre?

For me, I like being Stealthy. In terms of shooting from afar with accuracy and comfort. (eg. not much jamming and smoother cocking of the gun.)

    ReplyDelete
  79. Iigguuee,

Well, from my experience with the Deploy and Recon, I have not noticed any significant difference in jamming between the two. They both utilize similar bolt and chambering mechanisms.

Same as for efficiency over time, no significant difference noticed between those models and the Raider either.

By right, blasters should not lose that much power over time, it's most likely a sign of something damaged inside the blaster that caused the loss of power after usage.

Personally, i'd prefer the Spectre 'cos it's easier to holster as a sidearm, but it's all up to individual preference.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Sg Nerf,

In terms of performance and range, How would the Spectre and Deploy Compare?

    ReplyDelete
  81. iigguuee,

Both the Deploy and Spectre have similar range.

The Deploy has a pump action foregrip which some users find more comfortable to use.

The Spectre is more compact and can be holstered easily.

    ReplyDelete
  82. It looks unique. But I'm just wondering from all f you who have used it or own it, is the handle flimsy? Like moves a bit when you pump the handle as fast as you want? Please reply soon.I want to get it for a friend on Christmas. Oh and,is it easier to cock than the Recon? And how about the jam rate and is there any problems when it transforms? And how long does it take to transform? Sorry for the sudden number of questions. I'm really in the dark about this......

    ReplyDelete
  83. Nerf Meagafan,

The Deploy's flip-open trigger handle is relatively stable during firing, though of course it will feel slightly looser than a fixed trigger handle on other blasters.

The pump-action priming action is definitely easier to use than in top-slider priming action on the Recon.

No significant difference in jam rates compared to other blasters, just make sure you use streamline darts which are not bent or damaged.

If the unit is working properly, there should not be any issues when it is "deployed", and it should take just a split-second to "deploy" from torch mode to blaster mode.

    ReplyDelete
  84. which is more powerful, the maverick or the deploy

    ReplyDelete
  85. Alan,

In general, the Deploy has slightly more stock range than the Maverick, usually around 5-6ft more.

    ReplyDelete
  86. how does the nerf deploy fire when in the "stealth" mode?

    ReplyDelete
  87. Aaron,

The Deploy can't fire when it is in "stealth" mode, the trigger handle is hidden.

    ReplyDelete
  88. I just got the nerf deploy yesterday, and when i press the deploy button, the ammo clip does not turn sideways. do u have any idea how to fix it??

    ReplyDelete
  89. HilmBack,

It's most likely because the flip spring and mechanism are either mid-aligned or damaged.

You could open it up to try to troubleshoot it, but for the Deploy it's going to be quite troublesome as there are alot more parts installed in more layers compared to other Nerf blasters.

I would advise you to simply exchange it at the store for a new working unit, it'll save you all the hassle.

    ReplyDelete
  90. I have not been impressed with this gun. I purchased it for my boys for Christmas and both guns get jammed and you have to take the clip out to get the bullet unjammed

    ReplyDelete
  91. I like the deploy and the long strike which do you think I should buy first?

    ReplyDelete
  92. should i buy this or a longshot as a primary weapon? sometime i will get a vulcan and also use that with either a deploy or longshot. i do not plan on modding the gun. i play relatively small battles and already have a stampede clip and a raider drum for it.i am looking for something cool but accurate and fairly longrange.i will not use the barrel on the longshot
    thanks in advance

    ReplyDelete
  93. willtindall360,

Since you are not modding your blasters, then any Nerf blaster is okay to use since their stock firing ranges are all similar (+/- a few ft). Just get the blaster that you feel most comfortable with to use in Nerf games.

    ReplyDelete
  94. why does my jams and my shoot up to 10ft.

    ReplyDelete
  95. jimmy,

Perhaps you got a faulty unit, just exchange it at the store for a new working one.

    ReplyDelete
  96. im geting the deploy and i have the alpha trooper

    ReplyDelete
  97. Hey SGNerf,

Can the Deploy add a magazine/clip to the stock?? I was shocked because I do not know what to do so I searched for nerf blogs and found this could help me.

Another thing, my Deploy CS-6 Sonic Series the Dock Clip could not go the side when I press the Deploy Button.

    Please help me. Thanks

    ReplyDelete
  98. Mohd Azizi B Sani's,

Nope, the shoulder stock cannot store any clips.

If your Deploy cannot "deploy" properly, then you most probably got a faulty blaster. Just exchange it at the store for a new working unit.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Hey there SG Nerf,
    Its me again,

What kind of good customization can I make using Longstrike and Recon stuffs. (No Mod is needed)

    ReplyDelete
  100. Mohd Azizi B Sani,

Please look at the last photo in my review, you can see how the Longstrike and Recon parts look like when attached to the Deploy.

    ReplyDelete
  101. SgNerf, how do I put the Sling onto the Deploy? I need the photo.

    ReplyDelete
  102. One more thing, I think this is the problem why my Dock Clip didn't move to the side. I see a spring is bend halfway. Is it true?

    ReplyDelete
  103. Mohd Azizi B Sani,

The sling is clipped on the back part of the shoulder stock (both sling clips attached at the same casing loop). So when you sling it to carry the blaster points to the ground.

If your clip section cannot flip-open then the spring mechanism or one of the other parts is faulty. Like i mentioned, just exchange it at the store for a new working unit. Save all the hassle of trying to fix it.

    ReplyDelete
  104. SG Nerf, is Recon,Raider,Deploy and Longstrike the best weapons?

    ReplyDelete
  105. Mohd Azizi B Sani,

Those 4 blasters you mentioned (and also the Alpha Trooper) are all around similar power and range because they all use the same reverse plunger system. The differences are only their exterior design and features.

    ReplyDelete
  106. Should I get this or the Barricade?

    ReplyDelete
  107. Creator,

    Get the Nerf Barricade.

    ReplyDelete
  108. does the suction darts and the whistler darts fit into the mag?

    ReplyDelete
  109. hi,

It's possible to load those darts in the clips but they will not work properly as the Deploy (and other N-Strike clip-fed blasters) are not designed to use Suction tip or Whistler foam darts.

    ReplyDelete
  110. Hey sgnerf i was wondering, should i get this or the alpha trooper. i already have a maverik but thats it

    ReplyDelete
  111. 12 dan 12,

Get the Alpha Trooper, it has the slam-fire feature and comes with an 18-dart drum magazine, overall more effective in Nerf games.

    ReplyDelete
  112. Thank's, if I get a second nerf gun it will be the alpha trooper, but there's something I want to ask about it. Does it have a front and back sight? I could make my own if it doesn't but, they wouldn't be accurate so I just wanted to check.

    ReplyDelete
  113. 12 dan 12,

The Deploy has a small "scope" (its just a hollow plastic tube with a foresight tip) nested inside the handle, you could use that to aim.

    ReplyDelete
  114. If I were to trade my Deploy for a Longstrike, do you think that is a good trade-off?
I'm really not sure, so I thought I'd ask you.
    Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  115. Jessen L.

Well, i guess if you prefer the Longstrike's design then its good to change... anyways, they both use the same reverse plunger system, just different method of priming.

    ReplyDelete
  116. hi,

    Nope, the Deploy cannot slam-fire.

    ReplyDelete
  117. SG nerf,

does the deploy hold any clips

    ReplyDelete
  118. Red dragon,

Nope, it does not hold extra clips (just one in its clip loading slot).

    Its relatively lightweight.

    ReplyDelete
  119. what is slam firing?
also, is there a way to make the torch more powerful?
and finally, mine is not that accurate and shoots about 8 feet. i've had it 3 days (it was second hand) is there anything i can do?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Paltalkjr,

Slam-fire is a feature that allows the user to just hold the trigger down and then pump the priming grip repeatedly to fire a continuous stream of shots, you can see how it works in my Nerf Raider review:

      http://sgnerf.blogspot.com/2009/09/nerf-raider-cs-35-review.html

The Deploy's torch is basically a simple LED light, i guess you could just replace it with a stronger torchlight.

Sounds like your Deploy is a faulty set, i guess you'll just have to open it up to check which parts are not working properly and troubleshoot it.

      Delete
  120. Have you found a way to slam fire the deploy without modifying the gun?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. TheEvolvedUltimateNerfLord,

Well, you can just use the usual "quick-fire" technique... simply time your individual trigger pulls with the forward movement of the pump grip, you'll need good co-ordination and practice to get it right though.

Check out this video for a demonstration of the technique:

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pFzAQV4EMnk

Note that this is not true "slam-fire" 'cos you have to pull the trigger for each shot (not keep trigger pulled and just pump the grip like in actual slam-fire)... the technique tends to be labelled wrongly, but it can simulate the effect. :)

One more question. Would a longstrike, Deploy, Maverick and a Secret Strike make a good arsenal?

    3. Joseph,

Well, those blasters you mentioned all have similar performance, so i guess it's just a matter of which blaster designs or features you prefer.

  122. Dear sgnerf,
Which blaster do you think is better? The Deploy or the Longstrike? I don't know which one is more value-for-money.

    1. Anonymous,

Both use the same internal reverse plunger system so performance is similar, it just depends on which exterior design you prefer.

Most people go for the Longstrike because of its "sniper rifle" style design, nicer for display.

  123. Sg nerf the elite darts can be used with the deploy?
My deploy jams a lot with the streamlines

    1. Pedro Martinez Ruiz,

Yes, Elite foam darts can also be used with the Nerf Deploy.

Btw, your Deploy jamming issue might be due to how you prime the blaster too, you have to practice priming it properly.

    1. Anonymous,

I've already traded away my Deploy a long time ago after its been reviewed... i usually don't keep blasters that i never use in games anyways. :)

Maybe you should just check eBay or the various online Nerf forum trading sections and see if there are any sellers there.

    1. Anonymous,

Are you referring to the holes at the bottom section of the clip? Those are the screw ports, there are 2 machine screws securing the bottom of the clip.

  127. can you fire the blaster if the clip is vertical (upwards)in addition to being able to fire it with the clip horzintal (side ways)

    1. Shane Lim,

Yes, it can still fire if the clip is in the vertical position.

  128. The Maverick has a much longer range, accuracy, and power compared with the Deploy. My Deploy has a range of about 20 feet but fired in an arc, like an artillery round.

Could be sold out since its an older model, but you can check and try to find them.

Once again... i repeat, i don't know which stores still have stock. Stop repeatedly pestering me with such questions.

    1. Ayu25,

From my experience, the range of the Deploy is similar to the Recon or Raider, at around 25-30ft (they all use the same reverse plunger system anyways)... whether it jams more often or not depends on the individual unit, there might be odd ones which are faulty and jam (then just exchange it at the store for a new unit), but the majority of units shouldn't have any issues with jamming if used properly.

As for whether the Nerf blasters are allowed on a plane, you'll have to check directly with the particular airline during the luggage check-in.
