WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Im getting this with the centurion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow, looks like Nerf is starting to redesign actual revolver mechanisms for their blasters. That is basically EXACTLY how a true revolver works. Only problems: 5 shots, would become super difficult to prime with beefy spring, limited range with that plunger tube, probably just a bit further than a Snapfire. Other than that... Looks awesome, kinda like a badass version of the Gear Up series.
Ugh, okay, first off... A real revolver uses a trigger system that activates a hammer that strikes the primer on a bullet casing. The primer ignites the gunpowder in said bullet casing and propels the bullet out the barrel. The only other kind of realistic revolver that would use a plunger system would be an airsoft revolver.
Second, you can never compare Nerf to real fire arms. It's not a fair comparison.
Third, this is a Nerf blog, showing pictures of Nerf guns, and talking about Nerf guns..... So don't talk about actual fire arms in this blog, because we aren't talking about those.....
Fourth, if you look closely at the Hammer Shot's plunger tube it looks quite short, the only positive thing i can see is that it may be the same diameter of the Elite Firestrike.
Fifth, any revolver type pistol that Nerf released with the exception of the Elite Strongarm had completely crap range. With a Maverick or Spectre, the MOST you could ever get out of them with the original plunger system was maybe 40'-50' flat. If people got any higher, it's only because they replaced it with a Nitefinder plunger tube or put in an air tank.
So, for those of you who wish to question my knowledge of this hobby, please go ahead... I will not tolerate back-talk from someone who uses "d00d" as if it's a real word, and who thinks that real fire arms use plunger systems instead of gun powder.
I find it funny to read all the gripes about lack of modability because of the thumb-operated plunger system. Please, look at the name of the blaster line. Zombie Strike. This is a blaster purpose built for HvZ and the like. It's not intended to be a primary for your average Nerf war. It's a sidearm for zombie games. It's for situations when you want to be able to fire quickly, possibly on the run, and not necessarily able to use both hands to operate a single blaster.
For the intended purpose, this is awesome. No batteries creating deadweight like with other 1-handed blasters. No motors to make noise in zombie games, where silence can be crucial. This is an amazing blaster that fits is niche perfectly. The only thing I could possibly ask for would be for this remold of the Wildshot to include a holster like the original. It would really round out the sidearm feel of the blaster.
I love the Hammershot so much. I really do. I love the short size, I love the way it feels like an actuall revolver, it has a nice punch and I don't mind that it only holds 5 darts (I used the Spectre before) However, the lack of a Barrel really annoys me... I will maybe do a cosmetic mod, but I don't know for sure
I need this.
ReplyDeleteDual Wielding these will be EPIC... and the color scheme matches the N-Force hatchet too!
ReplyDeletethis gun had no rumours or anything...just a sudden appearance..lol.. This gun looks sooo similar to the Wildshot(in Rebelle)....
ReplyDeleteYeah, I think it's a reskin.
DeleteDifferent mold. It is smaller and uses a 5 shot turret.
DeleteWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWW I NEVER KNEW THAT.
DeleteIt also has a tactical rail.
Deletethis is pretty much how real revolvers work.
ReplyDeleteThis blaster looks like a revolver.(The revolver the cowboys use)
ReplyDeletefinally... it's HAMMER time!!
ReplyDeleteWHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Im getting this with the centurion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteIs this a new line of blasters? I hope they dont discontinue N-strike.
ReplyDeleteOne possible issue: this blaster doesn't allow for easy priming with modded springs after a certain stiffness since your thumb is doing all the work.
ReplyDeletemaybe you can use an other hand to do this work.
DeleteThis gun is very cool and the range is the same as Elite or even further
ReplyDeletewhat's the range of this?
ReplyDeleteover 75 ft
DeleteHow did you get it ? Did nerf send it to you?

ReplyDeleteno way d00d real revolver use way bigger plunger tube to make bullits go so fast
DeleteReal Revolvers don't use a plunger tube. Check here: http://www.howstuffworks.com/revolver.htm
DeleteNah, revolvers and other handguns have bullet plungers that work on metal instead of foam.
DeleteBullet plumbers??? What the heck is s bullet plunger???
