Those look like they might be C-cells to me. And if the blaster's full auto, then the flywheel isn't the only motorized part--something also has to push the darts out of the clip and into the flywheel.
C-cells would be frikkin' awesome. Not quite so heavy, and I like the idea of locating them in the front instead of the back. As for an automatic dart kicker, it doesn't take much of a mechanism. The Tommy 20 did it using one extra motor identical to the flywheel motors and that gun ran fine on only 3 AAs. Given the fat batteries we're seeing, I'll hold out hope that this is a plunger gun. Nerf has done a pretty decent job giving their fans what they want, and we have enough flywheel guns already. I have nothing against them (Rayven and Stryfe ftw) but variety is nice, and a Stampede upgrade just wouldn't be right unless it's a true plunger bolt.
given the size of the magazine those are DEFINTELY c-cells. i have adapters for those to AA trustfires cause I own a swarmfire, so this looks like a gun I'll be buying.
I like how the batteries are at the front of the gun will make it easier to aim, its predecessor the stampede having the batteries in the back made it more uncomfortable to use, the barrel attachment seems to be there, although I don't see it having much of a use, the stock looks nice, if this gun will fire at its rumored 3.6 darts per second I will be very pleased
Wether this thing turns out to be a flywheel or plunger based firing mechanism will not prevent me from purchasing this as soon as it's released (hopefully in Australia as well and soon). It looks like a thing of absolute beauty, and I'm sure it'll love my usual voltage mod!
YYYEEEEEEEEESSSSHHHH!!!!!
ReplyDeleteEEEEEEYYYEEEESSSSSSSHHHH!!!!!!!!eleven!1!!!!!!
SG Nerf, Is that a barrel extension attachment point I see?
ReplyDeleteYes, Yes it is. Put a longstrike barrel on it, so it's easier to hit enemy weak points for massive damage!
Deleteooooo....the built-in stock can be extended...tats new....
ReplyDeleteAm I right to say the foresight is a flip-up sight?
ReplyDeleteSo this is not a flywheel gun after all? D-cells seem like overkill for that.

DeleteIt takes 4double AA.

ReplyDeleteBut is it just a bigger Barricade with clip system? Well, only time can tell.
ReplyDeletefar from it, that is an unfair comparison
Delete1)better range
2)full automatic - higher ROF

ReplyDeleteSeeing as the Box Art says "Acceleration Trigger: Powers up the motor for rapid-fire blasting" ...I can't see this being a plunger.
ReplyDeletefrom the comments on rabysong's post apparently its fly wheel type, and cost him 800 rmb, and it runs on C sized batteries, not D
ReplyDeleteWell, we might have the images and all, but when does it come out? Or is it already out?
ReplyDeleteHi, where can I get Long strike ex-stock here in Singapore? Thank you
ReplyDeleteCant wait for it to come out in the US... The elite alpha trooper should come out on may 15th 2013, so I need something to review on!!!!!
ReplyDeletethanks to informastion,, its very usefull for me
ReplyDeleteDarn thing looks like a Pulse Rifle
ReplyDeleteCross between a pulse rifle and a g36c. Also, available in Australia if anyone from Aus is wondering.
