We have been hearing that Nerf was planning to do the "Elite Series" treatment to more blaster models from the current N-Strike range... and then out pops the Nerf N-Strike Elite Strongarm on eBay!
It looks like an elongated version of the Maverick with a new digital camo pattern on the casing, and the tactical rail has been relocated to the front of the blaster.
The turret seems to be positioned further forward too, perhaps the extra casing space fits a new direct plunger system? :)

Thanks to everyone who sent in their leads on this! Seems like lots of Nerf enthusiasts spotted this blaster once it appeared on eBay. :)

posting a review of it?
ReplyDeleteAnonymous,
DeleteYup... when i eventually get a set to try out. :)
Being the successor of the iconic Maverick (& maybe even the Spectre), you would have thought that they could have came up with a better name.
ReplyDeleteI ish dissapointed.
eh shame.. if they really wanted to be elite they should have made a big pistol with a huge plunger and a silencer that (held the dart) in some smart new way... so effectively a silencer clip.
ReplyDeleteNerf elite is turning into a joke beside the Retaliator and even then that is really just a longshot replacement for some one who wants a higher ROF and has good $$/Tools for mods. at this point i hope nerf just scrap all there designs and start a fresh in 2013. Or mabye just make cool toys like nerf or vortex grenades as its pretty clear they are not going to make a blaster ever again that can be modded past 90ft or a flywheel that is any different.
Sigh nerf........ quit painting stuff and adding new rails and stocks and do some thing real :(
I just hope nerf feel like doing another Stamped style blaster or a blaster of = power potential to the long shot... but sadly i expect the popularity of the rayven and hailfire will overshadow any chance of a high powered plunger or auto plunger blaster as one is a safety risk and one is full of easy to brake parts and a returns nightmare currently having its remaining stock sold off in Australia (much like the longshot) where nerf is less worried of accident form modding..
I absolutely agree with you and. It's just a new paint job and a so-called fancier name, Nerf should bring out new designs instead of updating the N-Strike series with better range and power.
DeleteEven though I completely agree with you, there might be a reason behind this. Maybe they'll "update" all of the iconic blasters that we've loved for so long first (i.e. the longshot or stampede), then completely start fresh and start making new designs for blasters in 2013, maybe even 2014! I mean, come on: If you're a Maverick lover like I am, wouldn't you die to get this improved blaster? It would be like bringing back old, fun memories but adding new, better experiences at the same time. It would also help you save some time and $$$ from modding old blasters. If you see where I'm going at, then you'd understand that Nerf is in fact listening to us. In short, my speculation about what Nerf is planning to do is this: Improve iconinc blasters and accessories, get some money, then use the money to help gather new ideas for new designs. It involves some time and patience, but if you wait long enough, you'll get what you're looking for :)
DeleteOh and by the way, thank you everyone for taking the time to read this and reply on what you think :D
I did some research and it this gun is only going
ReplyDeleteto come out in mid 2013 along with the firestrike which is a long way.
odds are, that this gun is a prototype. model.
If i were you I would bid on it or snipe it,
because no one in nic has more in depth reviews and guide than you.
Have I mentioned that you're site would get so much publicity?
maybe past the 5 million view mark. :)
It seems very unlikely that this is a prototype. One of the last stages of a manufacturer is designing and printing the box/packaging. It seems likely that it might have leaked from a marketing company. This might be a holliday release that they just havent announced.
DeleteWith all of this N-Strike Elite, I wonder if they plan on making Vortex Elite, and some new swords and such and call it N-Force Elite.
ReplyDeleteSorry, but probably not, since the vortex line already shoots discs 40 feet and up already. I wouldn't count on the N-Force Elite for obvious reasons, though.
Deletedont waste your money on it nerfSG we love u
ReplyDeleteA 67 year old lady who shops at garage sales randomly found this asumably prototype blaster before all of the worlds nerf fanatics. Yeah right ;)
ReplyDeleteI think it's cool and all, but does anyone else think its a bit....."round-ish"?
ReplyDeleteFrankly,it looks sucks.
DeleteI rather have maverick instead of this so call strongarm.can't nerf came out new solid, fresh design guns?wat do you guys think?or maybe re invented vintage guns like warthog with same design but hold standard 6 darts.what do you think?
ReplyDeleteFunctionality wise this make sense. A sidearm is always useful, especially if it's already loaded. Yeah it's not a "new" design, but if they can improve on the maverick without requiring you to mod it, then it's a win. I just wish it had the ammo holder like the double break.
ReplyDeleteI hear wah wah, come on and stop complaining, this is a step up from both the maverick and specter, at least it is a new design not a recolor, nerf made the elite line for us, we complained about the inverse plungers forever and now that is fixed, honestly if you can't be some what satisfied with what nerf is giving you make your own blasters, we all know homemade are stronger.
ReplyDeleteI fully agree. Stop complaining about what nerf has made. It's a complete improvement on the mav. And I'm sure they will start making fresh nerf blisters soon
DeleteWhen is the Elite series coming into SG stores?
ReplyDeleteAnonymous,
DeleteFrom what Hasbro Singapore has indicated, the main Elite Series blaster models (ie. Retaliator, Rampage and Hail-Fire) and the Vortex Pyragon are slated to be available at local stores in Singapore from September 2012... so its just in a few weeks time. :)
SgNerf, do you think this lady is a faker/troll? I mean, what kind f 67 year old lady finds things like this?
ReplyDeleteAnonymous,
DeleteYeah, i'm puzzled too. :D
It resembles a Vortex Vigilon!
ReplyDeleteIt does need a better name but I like the feel of it, looks like it will do the Maverick proud.
ReplyDeleteThis looks awesome! Can't wait till it's available.
ReplyDeleteJust checked and it looks like someone just posted another one on eBay http://bit.ly/VMwEpc
