Nerf has introduced an update for the Nerf Longshot CS-6!
The new Nerf Longshot now comes in a Yellow paint scheme. Mechanically it still operates via the same bolt action magazine-fed firing system.
The main improvement is the new color consistency with the rest of the N-Strike blaster range, especially when swapping the interchangeable blaster components between Nerf Longshots and Nerf Recons.
Note: The new Nerf Longshot (yellow version) comes packaged with only 1 x 6-dart magazine (additional magazines are sold separately).
Review of the Blue Nerf Longshot Here.
Review:
Nerf Longshot - Box (Front)
Nerf Longshot - Box (Back)
Nerf Longshot - Un-Boxed
Nerf Longshot - Assembled (with optional 2nd Magazine in the stock)
Nerf Longshot - Yellow version vs Blue version
Nerf Longshot - Interchangeable Components with Nerf Recon
Is it available here?
ReplyDeleteYup, you can now find the new Yellow Longshots at all major department stores and Toys R Us outlets in Singapore! :)
ReplyDeleteNot sure how in-depth you're running, but apparently the spring's different from the original blue versions. I haven't picked one up yet to open and make a comparison myself, but here's the thread on it.
ReplyDeletehttp://nerfhaven.com/forums/index.php?s=387db86b277a66a8708698cf61e82cce&showtopic=15902
Yeah, i read about that too... well, so far i've test fired a few magazines on the blue and yellow versions for comparison and both still achieved the same average ranges.
ReplyDeleteSo i guess the different springs doesn't seem to have affected the stock ranges. :)
You said it came with 1 magazine clip right? How come in your photos you have 2 orange clips?
ReplyDeleteYup, the new Yellow Longshots are now packaged with only 1 x 6 dart magazine.
ReplyDeleteI put a second magazine in the stock for comparison purposes (i have additional spare magazines).
Spare magazines are not avaliable in SG yet, but you can buy additional magazines from online (or from Toy R Us stores in M'sia), its called the N-Strike Mission Standard Clip Pack. :)
Is it sold in the US? I searched it on Hasbro.com and there was no results for a Yellow Nerf Longshot.
ReplyDeleteYes, its on sale in the states. Check around the stores in your area, you should be able to find them :)
ReplyDeleteCool. I have my own Nerf blog type thing. Can I ask where you get your info? I didnt see any official blog on Nerf.com.
ReplyDeleteI get all my latest info from various nerf forums, news sites and industry representatives. :)
ReplyDeleteCan you get the longshot in Oz?
ReplyDeletewhere can I get one?
And does it come with two clips
I'm not familiar with the avaliability of longshots in oz, you'd have to check around your local stores in australia to find out.
ReplyDeleteBlue Longshots come with 2 clips, Yellow Longshot come with only 1 clip. :)
hmmm they are availble here but how much is it im sure its more expansive than recon right? and also i looking for nerf rapidfire ,could u post the detials here? ,thanks!
ReplyDeleteNerf Longshots are retailing in SG for SGD$79.90.
ReplyDeleteThe Nerf Rapid Fire 20 is not avaliable in SG yet, at the moment you'll have to get it from M'sia or online stores. :)
overall, I think the yellow longshot doesn't look quite as good as the blue version, plus you'll notice a vast majority of people have the blue version, not the yellow. although I will say, the yellow longshot goes insanely beautifully with the recon barrel, which I really prefer in looks and style, in comparison with the original secondary gun attachment.
ReplyDeleteHey, I didn't know you were from Singapore! I'm from Taiwan and I'll definitely look out for yellow Longshot here in Taiwan!
ReplyDeleteI got a blue one from US and it's so big I can't hardly ask anyone to bring another for me.
Cool... yeah, definitely must look out for the new yellow Longshots, they'd make a great addition to a collection.
ReplyDeleteBtw, i've seen some of your nerf blaster repaints too, excellent work you've got there! :)
Lol. I'm more into the lazer tag right now, so of course I've repainted and mod my tagger. Maybe I will put lazer tag into my re-painted longshot! :)
ReplyDeleteNice... i also have a pair of the LazerTag Phoenix LTX blasters too, ordered a set from Amazon.
ReplyDeleteBut as its still not avaliable in SG yet, its tough to find people to play LazerTag games here at the moment.
Hopefully after they get re-branded into Nerf, they'll start hitting the store shelves soon! :)
Awesome, its on sale at TRU where I live right now for a great price-$25 USD. Im going to try to pick one up tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteerrr..... i check the singapore toys r us website i searched longshot bu thjere isnt any
ReplyDeleteThe Toys R Us website is never updated properly, there are alot of items in the stores that are not listed on that site.
ReplyDeleteYou'll have to visit the stores to see what they actually have... or call them to find out stock avaliability. :)
i found out that the yellow longshot is now in the USA wallmart, toys r us, etc
ReplyDeletedoes SG has blue longshot?
ReplyDeleteBlue Longshots were avaliable in SG stores up until a few months ago, but they have all since been sold out.
ReplyDeleteLocal stores now only stock the new Yellow Longshots.
how much is the longshot cs-6 in RM????
ReplyDeleteIf i remember correctly, Longshots are currently retailing at RM$149.90 in Malaysia stores.
ReplyDeleteok thanks!!How about the pinpoint sight??
ReplyDeleteThe Pinpoint Sight is RM$29.90 in Malaysia stores.
ReplyDeletePlease help me! I'm desperately trying to get the 2009 Nerf Laser Tag 2PK. Any idea where they sell it in Singapore?
ReplyDeleteSo far i've not spotted any Nerf Lazer Tag blasters avaliable in Singapore stores yet.
ReplyDeleteThe other alternative is to order them from online merchants like Amazon.com.
How long does the gun shoot?
ReplyDeleteThe Longshot box states that it can fire up to 35 ft.
ReplyDeleteFrom my experience... if aimed parallel to ground, it'll fire up to an average 25-30 ft. If aimed at an elevated angle (ie. 30 degrees), then it'll reach around 35 ft.
are darts included in nerf yellow longshot?
ReplyDeleteYes, Yellow Longshots are packaged with one 6-dart Magazine and 6 Streamline foam darts.
ReplyDeleteI just bought a longshot successfully at OG bugis there. I see there is 5boxes left.
ReplyDeletei modded my longshot (doubled the spring, removed the ar and covered the air release hole and i got 80ft straight.
ReplyDeletewhich is better? yellow or blue? I have another clip anyways......
ReplyDeleteNerfMasterVim,
ReplyDeleteBoth the Blue and Yellow Longshots are pretty much the same externally and internally.
The main difference is the colour... and number of clips supplied. :)
what is better the longshot or the longstrike?
ReplyDeleteJose Luis,
ReplyDeleteIf you are planning to keep the blaster in original stock condition, then both the Longshot and Longstrike perform around the same, so it just depends on which design you like better.
If you are going to modify the blaster for more range, then the Longshot will be the best choice as it has a larger direct spring plunger system (which offers much further range after modding), compared to the Longstrike's smaller reverse plunger system.
where do i buy this cuz i went to takashimaya, kiddy palace, toys r us,metro and it doesnt have it:(
ReplyDeletenerfmaster24,
ReplyDeleteLongshots are becoming very rare locally.
Perhaps you can check at the NerfSG forum trading section, there might be forum members there with Longshots for sale.
Thanks for the share!
ReplyDeleteNerf Sniper Rifle
Are u selling any sets invade I can't find them ?
ReplyDeleteis the yellow longshot harder to mod like the yellow nitefinder is
ReplyDeletep.s. what should i get first a longshot or a titan
playstationwiisixty,
ReplyDeleteFrom my experience, yellow Longshots are mechanically the same as blue Longshots (just different colour). No difference in modding work required.
I'd recommend getting the Longshot first, its a more all rounded blaster to use in games.
The Titan is more of a large single shot missile launcher thats a fun add-on to your Nerf collection. :)
hey where can i find it i am dying to get this!! it is not available at some tru
ReplyDeleteqin xuan,
ReplyDeleteThe Nerf Longshot is now out-of-production and local stores have sold out all their Longshot stock.
Check at the NerfSG forum (www.nerfsg.com) trading section, there are some local members who might still have Longshot sets available for sale.
I recently picked up a Longshot for $7 AUD (someone returned it because 'it didn't go far') and I was wondering if there were any sites that have a mod guide on it.
ReplyDeletedumaswranger,
ReplyDeleteYou can check out my Nerf Longshot Mod Guide:

hi i live in Brazil and want to know if the nerf longshot is still sold in the United States please answer!
ReplyDeleteigor,
ReplyDeleteShould be, you'll just have to check at the dept stores in the States.
Would I be able to buy it in stores in Canada?
ReplyDeletewhat about the red longshot? is their any difference or was that whole "crimson strike" thing just promotional (which it probably was anyways)
ReplyDeletejohn,
ReplyDeleteThe "Crimson Strike" Longshots were a Walmart exclusive model available for a short while in the States.
They are basically the same as Blue or Yellow Longshots but just in a Red color scheme.
Very rare nowadays though and they can command high prices amongst collectors.
awsome there out in the uk heres the thread
ReplyDeletehttp://www.toysbythebundle.co.uk/nerf-nstrike-longshot-cs-6-blaster---yellow-19991-p.asp
how far dose that front gun get???
ReplyDeletewww.nerfcammando.blogspot.com
Nolan,
ReplyDeleteThe Longshot front blaster's average stock range is around 25-30ft.
How much is it cost in Malaysia dollars? ^^ I desperately want to buy it :D
ReplyDeleteHyul25,
ReplyDeleteYou'll have to check at dept stores in M'sia, i only have info for Singapore side.
is there still stocks for this gun ? I really want it
ReplyDeleteis it true that longshot cs-6 will be
ReplyDeleteno longer available ?
not sure how in depth ur running, but the longshot's scope has some minor magnification abilities. about 0.25x i think
ReplyDeletebarrettm107cqbr,
ReplyDelete0.25x? You mean you see everything only 1/4 the original size through your Longshot scope? Just kidding.
I assume you mean 1.25x... i guess you were just experiencing some image distortion when looking through the Longshot scope's cheap warped transparent plastic pieces. :)
can anyone help me ? i cant find longshot anywhere now...
ReplyDeleteoh, found a longshot in Perth.
ReplyDeleteFinally!!! really good gun, my favourite :)
I am chuffed! just found a longshot in the UK! Whoop! :)
ReplyDeleteCan I find them at Toys R Us in Vivo City.
ReplyDeleteLow,
ReplyDeleteNope, Nerf Longshots are no longer available at local stores in Singapore.
What!!! I thought you say we can find them at all major department stores and Toys R Us outlets in Singapore???
ReplyDeleteLow,
ReplyDeleteThe reviews are done a while back and if you are referring to the last batch that popped in local stores:
http://sgnerf.blogspot.com/2010/12/nerf-longshot-cs-6-back-in-singapore.html
They are all sold out.
So.... I cant buy them in Singapore or there are still some places where I can get them?
ReplyDeleteLow,
ReplyDeleteAs mentioned in my response to your query at the "Singapore Nerf Stock List" section in this site... the only way to get Longshots nowadays is to order them from overseas online stores (if they still have stock) or check at the NerfSG forum trading section to find local enthusiasts who may have spare sets available for sale.
Ok, thanks for your help! :D
ReplyDeletehaw haw haw i cannot believe in oz we have so many longshots!!!
ReplyDeletei recently picked one up. im not sure why the casing has a couple of black marks and they are not removable, could u help me???
p.s. at least the internals are good...i get 13.6 m straight no mods. (probably 45-50 ft?)
barrettm107cqbr,
ReplyDeleteGood to hear that there are still remaining stocks of Longshots in Australia, i guess the demand in Oz isn't as crazy as in Singapore.
The last one-off shipment of Yellow Longshots that popped up at local stores in Singapore during December 2010 were all snapped up very quickly.
As for the black markings on your particular Longshot unit, i've no idea what they are, could be a factory defect or it might be a returned unit that got re-sold (previous buyer marked it, then returned it), it happens sometimes. Anyways you can just return it to the store and exchange for a unit with a nicer casing. :)
lol xD i didt exchange it because it has such nice internals!!! anywayz in oz demand is still crazy but for some reason, we keep restocking!!! woot!
ReplyDeletelongshot is great
ReplyDeletehow far dose it shoot?
ReplyDeletesorry if it in there
Steven,
ReplyDeleteThe box states "shoots up to 35ft". :)
Average tested stock range is around 30-35ft.
Hey SG Nerf,
ReplyDeleteJust wondering, I noticed on Oz LS boxes and the final LS shipment to your place, I see that the box no longer says 'The Longest Nerf Blaster!' and where it says that has been replaced with 'Shoots up to 35ft/11m'
Am i correct?
P.S Just if you don't know, the 'Sonic' (Green for good 4 the environment)l series was released because Hasbro stopped using plastic wires to hold their products and opt for paper wire.
Is that correct? I noticed it when i was buying my friend a nite-finder and i compared to my other nite-finder which is still in its box. (it was from 2008)
barrettm107cqbr,
ReplyDeleteBox designs and text vary depending on production batch.
One of the reasons why the "Longest Nerf blaster" label was omitted from the newer Longshot boxes is probably because those units were produced after the Longstrike was launched. The Longstrike's overall length is slightly longer than the Longshot, so it gets that label now. :)
The paper tie method of securing Nerf blasters in boxes is just a new method of packaging, most of the Nerf blasters launched since mid-2010 are secured using that method.
The Sonic series is just another shell colour variant (nothing related to promoting environmental-friendliness). Other Nerf blasters were already packaged using paper ties before the launch of the Sonic series.
i am now finding nerf longshot (yellow) but now in singapore where have..
ReplyDeletebunnyboy,
ReplyDeleteNerf Longshots are now all sold out in Singapore.
You could check the NerfSG forum (www.nerfsg.com) trading section to see if there are any local Nerf enthusiasts who may have spare sets for sale.
ok.can u gave me the online websites to buy longshot cs-6(yellow)?
ReplyDeletebunnyboy ,
ReplyDeleteSure... you could still get them from online store sellers, like this example on Amazon.com:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B000ETQR3Q?tag=sgn06-20&camp=213761&creative=393545&linkCode=bpl&creativeASIN=B000ETQR3Q&adid=0TGZWAA6ADAJNB85PV7J&
... if you are willing to pay ridiculously high prices and 3rd party international shipping rates for them. :)
Hi, can i get updates on whether the longshot will be available for purchase in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Been looking for one lately but it seems like the gun is discontinued. I think. Please email me at billy_limscorpio@msn.com
ReplyDeleteBilly Lim,
ReplyDeleteI'm not too familiar with the latest Nerf blaster availability in M'sia (you'll have to ask the M'sian nerfers about that), but from my past few shopping trips in JB and KL, it seems Longshots are all sold out everywhere too.
how long is the main blaster unit?
ReplyDeletehi,
ReplyDeleteApprox. 60cm (or 68cm, with shoulder stock extended).
So, I see that people have asked/talked about changes beyond color with the gun itself.
ReplyDeleteWhat I didn't see was talk on the changes to the CLIPS. I think they changed the clips so they come out easier.
Mind you, my experiments are far from scientific, as I do not have a yellow LS and I don't think Hasbro even makes a blue Recon. But I have found that an orange clip in my Recon falls right out with only gravity to help it when I hit the release.
I put that same clip in my LS and it falls out too. The yellow clip doesn't fall out at all in the LS, but will fall a little in the Recon. I think they changed the clips slightly. I've wanted to sit down and take a good look at the differences between the clips.
Also, try sliding the LS scope onto the Recon barrel, then attaching the barrel to the LS body. For additional awesome, add the "laser" sight on the bottom of the barrel.
Also, how many people have/wanted to switch the light in the "laser" sight with an actual laser? Or make a whole new attachment?
Bippwatt,
ReplyDeleteWell, i have dozens of both the yellow and orange clips from various Longshots and they all fit abit differently, some have a slightly tighter fit, some a slightly looser fit, even amongst the same colored clips.
These are plastic toy parts so i guess it's just the usual manufacturing variations between different production batches.
Btw, frequently used clips will also tend to fit looser as the plastic wears out gradually with usage.
i want to buy a longshot, but i cannot find it anywhere, not even toy r us,can you help me find it at U.S.A please?
ReplyDeleteJackiethunderpower2299,
ReplyDeleteI'm in Singapore (as mentioned in the title and description of this site)... how would i be able to help you find stuff in USA? :)
i have a yellow longshot. it shoots 40ft or 11m!
ReplyDeleteits so awesome with a raider drum!
for the front gun thingy, if u mod it, what range will it get?
howlingbanshee7,
ReplyDeleteThe Longshot front blaster has a much smaller plunger volume so it's modded performance is abit limited... though with AR removal and stronger spring, around 45-50ft ranges are still possible.
hey emm does the TRU at Vivo sells LongShots? Im looking for one.
ReplyDeleteUnknown,
ReplyDeleteImho, best to just call that store beforehand to check if they still have it in stock. You can get the branch contact numbers at their website.
Moi j'ai les deux mais le jaune je le trouve mieux .
ReplyDeleteI got a yellow Longshot as well. I dunno why there was a ton a Longshots at the shop; weren't they were meant to be discontinued?
ReplyDeleteAnonymous,
DeleteYes, there was a limited re-stock of Yellow Longstrikes at local dept stores in Singapore back in April 2012:
http://sgnerf.blogspot.com/2012/04/nerf-longshot-cs-6-yellow-back-in.html
Although remaining stocks are still available at some stores at the moment, once they are sold out there is no news of further re-stocks. :)
hmmmm April 2012 is ther other month's for the Long Shot in SG 2012?
DeleteWhere is better? Long shot or raider?
ReplyDeleteAnonymous,
DeleteIn stock condition, both blaster have similar performance due to their intact air restrictors.
But when modded, the Longshot will have much longer range due to its larger direct plunger system, compared to the Raider's smaller reverse plunger system.
Hey I live in England and the price for the yellow and blue longshot is the same (toys r us) would this mean that you could just get an extra mag for free when you buy the blue version?
ReplyDeleteAnonymous,
DeleteYes... the Blue Longshot is always better to get. Its also very rare nowadays too, 'cos it been sold out for quite a while, hence highly sought after by collectors.
Hw much is it?
ReplyDeleteXJ3abyWink,
DeleteIt retails for SGD$79.90 at dept stores in Singapore.
In your opinion what is a better colour for the longshot yellow or blue?
ReplyDeleteAnonymous,
DeletePersonally i prefer blue. :)
I have a minor problem with my Longshot, some times the bolt gets stuck in the forward position and i have to whack the side to get it working again, any ideas whats going on?
ReplyDeleteAnonymous,
DeleteMost likely the bolt lock in your Longshot somehow got mi-aligned or stuck, you'll have to open it to troubleshoot.
Here is a photo of the internals with the parts descriptions:
http://i380.photobucket.com/albums/oo244/cheesypiza001/THE%20INTERNALS%20DIRECTORY/Longshotinternals.jpg
Also check the other parts and mechanisms, something else might have been mis-aligned too.
Yeah i opened it up, i found that the bolt lock was a bit dodgy, haha it had been mi-aligned, which is weird because it hasn't been used much. Anyway thanks for your help :)
DeleteWill there be longshots on August ??
ReplyDeleteShould i get another yellow Longshot or the Unity Power System? i can't decide.
ReplyDeleteWhere did you get the blue longshot?
ReplyDeleteAnonymous,
DeleteI got my Blue Longshots at local dept stores in Singapore, but that was back in 2008. They are no longer available nowadays.
then is the yellow longshot available
ReplyDeleteAnonymous,
DeleteAt this moment, Yellow Longshots are still available at dept stores in Singapore. Just shop around to find them (while stocks last).
how much are they and where do you get them
ReplyDeleteAnonymous,
DeleteYellow Longshots retail at SGD$79.90 in Singapore, you can currently still find them at local stores like Toys R Us, Metro, OG etc.
hey SGNerf, i live in california USA, i was wondering if i can buy a yellow or blue longshot locally, since the longstrike was released, i've heard it replaced the longshot, is that true? thanks SG
ReplyDeleteGabriel,
DeleteLongshots seem to have been sold out in the USA for quite a while, though you could still shop around to look for them, might get lucky and find some remaining stock at certain stores.
The Longstrike was released around the same time when the Longshots started to be sold out, so i guess its seen as a model which was introduced to replace the Longshot on retail shelves.
is the longshot still available in Singapore because i visited Form today and did not see any longshots
ReplyDeleteAnonymous,
DeleteLooks like they are starting to be sold out in stores... just check at other Toys R Us outlets, or at the other major dept stores like Metro, OG etc. Shop around to find remaining stock at those other places.
In 2012 Long Shot just only at April is ther other month's for the Long Shot CS 6 at Singapore 2012...
ReplyDeletehow many the clip in the nerf long shot i guest 2
ReplyDeletewhat is the better color blue or yellow
tyrone nerf,
DeletePersonally, i prefer the blue version, the color is less glaring and it comes with 2 clips (yellow version only comes with 1 clip).
In addition, the blue version is quite rare nowadays, so its in high demand by Nerf collectors.
Is ther other month's in SG for the Long shot at 2012...
ReplyDeleteAnonymous,
DeleteThere was a limited re-stock in early 2012, but now all sold out... no more news on anymore re-stocks so far.
Is nerf sold at Vietnam?Coz I going Vietnam jus nice I go the shop shop haha.
ReplyDeleteWhere can i buy longshot in singapore or malaysia. And what is the price?
ReplyDeleteAnonymous,
DeleteThey seem to be all sold out in most places in Singapore and Malaysia now... i guess you'll have to get them from other countries (if they are still available) or buy from other local nerfers who have spares to sell.
what is the price of this gun in USA?
ReplyDeleteAnonymous,
DeleteCheck Amazon.com or eBay.com (or any of the USA dept store websites).
When are you restocking this gun in Singapore
ReplyDeleteTingting,
DeleteNo idea... this blog is just a hobby enthusiast site (not Hasbro or a retail dept store), we have not seen anymore re-stocks so far.
SGNerf: Malaysia Where Got Longshot CS-6 Sold?
ReplyDeleteNerf Buddy,
DeleteThey seem to be sold out everywhere now... i guess you'll have to check on eBay or the various Nerf forums to find existing owners who may have spare sets for sale.
Sell long shot :D
ReplyDeleteAll for 79.90.......
ReplyDeleteIs it true that the blue longshot and the yellow one have no diffrence?
Anonymous,
DeleteMechanically both versions are the same... its only the color scheme that is different.
In addition, the blue version is packaged with 2 clips, while the yellow version is only packaged with 1 clip.
Arm can i order it cause all the stores in singapore dont have it i want blue
ReplyDeleteHong Li,
DeleteBlue Longshots have been sold out many years ago and are no longer in production.
Nowadays, you'll have to get them 2nd hand from existing owners, check the various Nerf forums or eBay to find sellers.
How Much is the Nerf Mega Centurion i feel like buying it
ReplyDeleteHong Li,
DeleteAt this moment, no confirmed local price info on the Centurion yet.
Is amazon pounds or USD$
ReplyDeleteHong Li,
DeleteThe default currency listed on Amazon.com is in $USD.
Is longshot cs6 , stampede are available in SG 2014 toys r us
ReplyDeleteThose are older models and now out of stock at local retail stores.
DeleteIf i buy the gun where do i go ? just asking only
ReplyDeleteYou can check at online sites or eBay.
DeleteWhich mall in SG can I find longshot
ReplyDeleteAnonymous,
DeleteThe Longshot has been sold out many years ago, its been phased out and no longer in production
Do note that the longshots (zombie strike versions) that you see in the SG stores right now is differently packaged from the original blue or yellow ones. It lacks the detachable blaster in the front.
ReplyDelete
